Friday Night Who 6/7/13

JUL101945Tonight for Friday Night Who we visit the fifth Doctor and Turlough, say goodbye to Kameeilion, and introducing Peri as the Doctor… er, sorry, still have “The Name Of The Doctor” on the brain.

I mean we introduce Peri to team Tardis.

And what an introduction it is.  Tame by today’s standards, but Nicola Bryant sure set the hearts of the fan boys racing at the time.  Don’t know what we’re talking about?  Then be sure to join us on twitter for the conversation, follow @travelvortex, @VortexKeith, @vortexshaun and @vortexglenn and look for the #FridayNightWho and #PlanetOfFire hashtags.  Maybe if we ask nice enough, @PeterDavison5 or @thenicolabryant will join us?

Episode 34 – Goo Goo G’Joob

Third Doctor: Jo, it’s all quite simple – I am he and he is me!
Jo Grant: And we are all together, goo goo g’joob?

In this week’s episode we review four multi-Doctor stories, starting with the classic Third Doctor story, The Three Doctors. We follow that up with the less then stellar, The Two Doctors, and then the absolutely superb mini-episode, Time Crash. And to round things out, we talk a little about the multi-Doctor extravaganza, Dimensions in Time.

Oh, and of course news and your feedback! Enjoy!

“Excusive” KC 48 hr Film Project

Special Thursday Edition Of Friday Night Who 7/18/11

UPDATED: For tonight’s special Thursday edition of #FridayNightWho, we will be starting #TheTwoDoctors at 11:30pm CDT and NOT midnight. Hope to see you then!

Once again throwing a curve ball your way by changing up our traditional #FridayNightWho to thursday this week.  The Vortex boys will be taking part in another 48 hour film festival this weekend, (This time it’s the 48hr Film Project, an international affair that will see our film compete against other for Best of Kansas City.  If we win that, we go against the winners of other cities, including Chicago, Denver, LA, New York, etc… Wish us luck!)

So, Thursday night at midnight 11:30 pm CDT join us on Twitter for tweet-a-long with the Colin Baker entry into our multi-doctor stories, #TheTwoDoctors, also starring Patrick Troughton.  Look for the hashtags and let’s ahve some fun with this iconic story!  And let’s start tweeting @SawbonesHex, @thenicolabryant, and @frazerhines (The sixth Doctor,  Peri and Jamie respectively) to see if we can get them to join us or perhaps give us a retweet!

Episode 22 – The Almost Podcast

We call this week’s episode, The Almost Podcast because some listeners will hear almost all of the show before they have to wait another week to hear our review of The Almost People. That’s right, our policy here at Traveling the Vortex is, if it’s aired in the U.K., we’re going to talk about it. So please keep that in mind when listening to this week’s show.

However, there is still plenty for the North American folks to enjoy. We also review the subject of last week’s Seven Weeks for Seven Doctors, Vengeance on Varos, starring the Sixth Doctor and Peri.

Surprisingly, there was no actual feedback this week, however, we do read out a couple of comments that are in reaction to BBC America and SPACE’s decision to delay Series Six for one week for the Memorial Day holiday.
