Episode 444 – Beyond the Doctor: Spooky Time 3 – So Bad It’s Good

In this week’s episode, we again diverge from the Doctor Who Universe to look at films starring actors who played the Doctor, giving us a chance to look at a greater body of work outside of the character we know and love.

In the spirit of the Halloween season, we’re reviewing movies that could be considered a horror, a thriller, or just spooky in story and tone.

This time we look at Third Doctor actor, Jon Pertwee in the 1971 Amicus Film Production, The House That Dripped Blood and Twelfth Doctor actor, Peter Capaldi in the 1988 British horror film, The Lair of the White Worm.

And, of course, feedback.

Enjoy!

Episode 291 – Abject Dalek Destruction

ttv_logo_newWe move sideway once again this week into another universe where our familiar Doctor is not present, but replaced with an old time traveling scientist called Dr. Who. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, we look at Daleks’ Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. We give our impressions of the second outing of Peter Cushing as the lovable old doctor as he encounters some new friends and an old enemy.

Also, Glenn does a mini-review of the Traveling the Vortex Book Club book for June, Doctor Who: Royal Blood by Una McCormack, featuring the Twelfth Doctor and Clara as they first encounter The Glamour.

Plus, some “we told you so” news-of-the-week.

And, of course, your feedback.

Enjoy!

Episode 290 – A Kitschy Sixties Romp

ttv_logo_newIn this week’s show we jump into a parallel universe where the good Doctor is an Earthbound scientist, tinkering with his time machine in his back yard with the non-canonical “Dr. Who And The Daleks”. We finally get around to seeing this alternative version of Terry Nation’s Daleks story.

Also, no news this week, but we have plenty of stuff to talk about with Shaun refreshed from a journey to the great state of Colorado.

And, of course, there’s feedback!

Enjoy!

…which sets up an Adversary Archive for The Macra in TTV #295. But we’ll be pulling double duty with this episode, also looking at the Lost In Time story “The Macra Terror”.
