The actress of course played Time Lady Romana opposite Tom Baker’s fourth Doctor in the Key To Time season, and sadly passed last year, far too early.
This would have been her 63rd birthday.
In this week’s show a look at another Adversary Archive, this time The Nimon.
First the Fourth Doctor, Romana II and K-9 take on the Nimon in Horns of the Nimon. Then the Eighth Doctor and Charley face down the foe in the Big Finish audio play Seasons Of Fear.

Lalla Ward of course played opposite Tom Baker’s fourth Doctor as Princess Astra in “The Armageddon Factor” and later became Romanadvoratrelundar or Romana for short. Often referred to as Romana II, (since she replaced Mary Tamm) a role she held from “Destiny Of The Daleks” up through “Warrior’s Gate”. Today is her 61st birthday.
