Timelord Ben with Burn Gorman

In our most recent podcast Ben mentioned in his feedback how nice of a guy Burn Gorman is and told us about a picture they took together.

Burn is a very nice guy. I met him at Chicago Tardis 2012. We did a pro photo with him and also an autograph. He was so nice that when we brought our photo to have him sign it he stopped the autograph session for us. My son and I had not looked closely at the photo. Burn had though (before the autograph session) , and he’d noticed the blurriness. So, again he stopped the line and said “hey your the ones whose photo turned out bad…let’s do another one right now”. So he got up and we went and did just that. Now that year at CT you could pay a lower rate and do a pic with your cell phone. We’d chosen the pro photo of course, but after the photographer snapped the pic Burn turned towards us and asked if we had our “mobile” on us and said let’s do one of those (free) so you have a pic for sure. I’ve attached the cell pic taken that day.

Holly’s Rescue Dogs

In episode 210, Holly (from Wisconsin) mentioned in her feedback that her family recently rescued two dogs and included a picture. Here’s what she said in her feedback:

Keith I agree with you about your story that you shared about the pets that you dealt with over Christmas. My family and I just rescued two dogs earlier in the fall and let’s just say they love their toys and the squeakers. Koko, the oldest of our two dogs is a mix of mini-pinscher chihuahua and loves anything that squeaks and will squeak said toy for minutes on end .She then loves to proceed to take said squeaker out of the toy a few days later. Mario, the youngest who is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, loves the squeakers as well and is a little more gentler on the toys but every now and again, I will find some stuffing on the floor, but that’s what toys are for. Here’s pictures of the two little cuties resting.

And here’s the picture of Koko & Mario

Doctor Who Kids

Listener Eric sent in some better pictures of his goat kids he named after Doctor Who characters. In his feedback he said:

Next, better goat pics. Here are pictures of all of the remaining kids from this year. In order, they are Leela, Brigadier, Nyssa, and Harkness. If you are wondering what that is all over Leela’s face, well… it’s a bit of a story. Last night we came home from a party late and I found her stuck in our chicken coop by herself, with a chick water container on her head (see attached photo). While it was amusing at the moment of that photo, our efforts to remove it from her head broke her horn nub off, causing her to bleed profusely. Eventually I was able to get the bleeding to stop (no thanks to her) by pouring generous amounts of ferous sulfate on it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t avoid getting it in her eye, and I’m not really sure what it will do to it in the long run, but it might be more appropriate at some point to give her the eye patch instead of her brother.

Little Brig the Goat

Listener Eric last week sent us some feedback about how he named his goat kids after doctor who characters:

I had a bit of serendipity myself while listening to podcast. It was during Dr. Phil’s interview at the end. It just so happened that at the point that he played the audio from the regeneration scene, and Five’s companions were speaking, that I was wrestling with Nyssa and Adric. Yes, you read that right. You see, my family has a very small farm. And on that farm we have some goats. E-I-E-I-O. Dairy goats, to be precise. And one of the things that Dairy goat farmers often do is give all of the kids born in a year a naming theme. Often, farmers are boring and just use the same starting letter for each kid’s name, and go through the alphabet over the years. As I said, we find it boring. We’ve used spices, rocks, mathematicians, guitarists, and constellations on previous years. This year we have companions. The first two born (twins are fairly common for goats, certainly no dilemma) were does named Nyssa and Rose. Rose and we have since had our parting of ways, as we have sold her to another family. She thought it was the end of the world, Doomsday even. The next two were buck-kids that are too closely related to our herd to keep. They might end up as dinner or spun-out to another farm. They are Adric and Harkness. The last doe to give birth this year had one of each, before escaping just under a week later to forage in the woods and die of bloat. We have to bottle-feed her kids, who quite savagely jump on us and bite at our fingers and knees because they are rather confused about what does or does not have milk in it. The doe is Leela and the buck, who is not related to the rest of the herd and should make good breeding stock for years to come, is Brigadier.

This week he included pictures! He said:

First off I just realized that I was getting down to the deadline and had neither typed my feedback nor taken a photo of the little Brig. I just stepped out with my wife’s phone to take some photos. Hopefully the cloud will share them with me by the time I’m done typing. If not, I’ll try again later with hopefully better photos; these were rather blurry and over-exposed…

Episode 100 – Happy Epiversary!

In this week’s episode we review… oh wait… in this week’s episode we spend the entire show talking about ourselves. That’s right, it’s been 100 weeks and that means 100 episodes, so this week a look at our favorite subject, US! Join us for a retrospective of the last 2 years.

But, it wouldn’t be a show without a look at some news of the week.

And, of course, lots and lots of your feedback.

Enjoy, and here’s to 100 more!
