Episode 92 – The Pond Goodbye

And do one more thing for me. There’s a little girl waiting in a garden. She’s going to wait a long while so she’s going to need a lot of hope. Go to her. Tell her a story. Tell her that if she’s patient, the days are coming that she’ll never forget. Tell her she’ll go to sea and fight pirates. She’ll fall in love with a man who’ll wait two thousand years to keep her safe. Tell her she’ll give hope to the greatest painter that’ll ever live. And save a whale in outer space. Tell her this is the story of Amelia Pond and this is how it ends.”

We bid farewell to the Ponds in this week’s show with a sad send off and a review of the mid season fanale, The Angels Take Manhattan. We take a quick look back at the season so far, and speculate on where it’s headed in the future.

Also, some news of the week including the upcoming book, ‘Angel’s Kiss’, which tells the story of Melody Malone, a lonely award for Doctor Who: The Gunpowder Plot adventure game, and the Doctor Who ultimate DVD set.

And as of course, your feedback.

Enjoy!

Episode 91 – The Power of Three Podcasters

But first a look back at another UNIT story, and the Brig’s last Doctor Who “proper”, Battlefield.

And some sad news in the Doctor Who world, the announcement by Janet Fielding that she has been diagnosed with cancer. Our reaction to the news.

And, of course, your feedback.

“Pond Life” Mini Prequel Announced

The BBC has revealed five Doctor Who mini-adventures will be released online next week ahead of the new series.  Last season we got five “Night And The Doctor” minisodes that showed us life in the Tardis between the televised adventures.  This season they’ll act as a prequel to season seven.

According to CultBox.com:

Available on the official Doctor Who website and the BBC’s YouTube Channel, “Pond Life” is written by Chris Chibnall and will feature Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, plus “some unexpected surprises”.

Says Chibnall: “Pond Life provides us with a lovely opportunity to catch-up with Amy and Rory since we saw them at the end of the last series. It opens with the Ponds at home and gives us an insight in to just what happens when the Doctor drops in and out of their lives. Travelling with the Doctor is one of the greatest things you can do, but it’s fun to spend a few moments looking at the chaos he can also bring.”

The first episode of Pond Life will be available to watch at noon on Monday August 27th, with new instalments released each day until Friday, August  31st.

More details can be found here.
